TAMF-supported High schooler’s International day at Ishinomaki Nishi High School. Students from the disaster area in the U.S., Taiwan, Korea and Japan gathered and shared their lessons.

TAMF-supported High schooler’s International day at Ishinomaki Nishi High School. Students from the disaster area in the U.S., Taiwan, Korea and Japan gathered and shared their lessons. Akane lost her home, memories and her best friends because of the tsunami. After six years, she now bravely tells her story on weekends in the area to tourists throughout Japan. Brendan from Joplin, Missouri, told how vounteers and his people united together to survive the record breaking EF-5 tornado in the same year, 2011. Nan-Ning from Taiwan introduced a story of gas explosion in 2014, the man-made disaster. Her town looks OK now, but still many people are struggling mentally as well ...

Ishinomaki Junior High schooler’s speech contest. The champion won the Taylor award as well. Taylor trophy is made by Mr. Endo. The winner talked about social media’s merits and demerits. Demerits are focused these days, but she introduced a story in March 11, 2011. A mother was on the roof and surrounded by fire. She texted to his son in England, and he gave her an advice to tweet where she was. Tokyo Fire Department sent a helicopter immediately and saved her and her neighbors.

12th Taylor Library is installed to Inai elementary school. It is the back-to-school day today, and the school held a ceremony for us.

12th Taylor Library is installed to Inai elementary school. It is the back-to-school day today, and the school held a ceremony for us. This school’s principal is married to an elementary school teacher who happened to work at Mangokuura elementary with Taylor that day. Another coincidence. Thank you, Taylor!
