震災後の子どもたちの「つくる・つながる・つたえる」力を育む活動をしています。小学生から高校生までの子どもたちのアイディアで取材対象を決めて取材し、発見したことをまとめて紙面にします。震災当時、熊本の自衛隊に救助されたこども記者が熊本地震の際に熊本を訪れた話しなど、子どもたちの目線で震災や今の石巻を伝えます。

石巻西高校国際フォーラム


東日本大震災の被災地校として石巻西高校では防災教育に取り組んでいます。米国、韓国、台湾の各被災地から高校生を迎え、その活動の成果を報告しあい、復興状況を見てもらいます。海外参加者にも避難訓練や防災体験学習を体験してもらい、先進的な取り組みをしている本校の取組を広く世界に役立ててもらいます。

International Disaster Forum by Ishinomaki Nishi West High school


New Orleans Katrina, Korean disaster, Taiwan earthquake, and Ishinomaki great earthquake and tsunami. High school students from four different countries make presentations about their disaster in English.
